Reviews
A nice undulating course that is very difficult to find in Essex due to it being so flat in general, because of how much the course undulates there are some rather long or deceptively long holes with a lot of uphill approaches to greens.
We played this during the winter months and wouldn't recommend playing it at that time of year. The drainage isn't fantastic and due to the river that runs through the middle of the course, it suffers from some very boggy areas. The course didn't appear to be in great condition although we put this down to the time of year. We were playing off mats, there was no clear cut line between fairways and rough, there were no fringes cut into the greens and the greens were incredibly slow, as I said though, we put this down to the time of year and the weather we had experience over the previous 3 months.
The green fees are great value for money, I'd have been very annoyed at the quality of the course had we paid £25+ for the green fee but with some vouchers we had received from Nevada Bobs it cost us £10 each for 18 holes as opposed to the £15 winter green fee, so easy on the wallet.
Excellent customer care, they really couldn't do enough for us. I look forward to giving the course another go when the weather is a little warmer and the course has had a chance to dry out. With the recent new investment as well it could and should be a course for the future.

Played this course twice recently and what a gem it is. Every hole is different with varying challenges. The greens most of which are elevated are in superb condition and the course is very forgiving for those who dont hit straight. The service in the clubhouse is second to none and you are made very welcome and all the staff cannot do enough for you and to make your visit a pleasant and memorable one. The golf and food and beverages is exceptional value for money, best in Essex. The only criticism would be the state of the bunkers, which desperately need some sand in them.
