Description
Carved out of groves of carob and olive trees on two high plateaux divided by a ravine, the course overlooks the Mediterranean with all but a few holes enjoying superb sea views.
Designed by world-renowned Cabell Robinson, the course harmonises beautifully with the natural landscape and environment of the surrounding area. Fairways are generously wide off the tee with large 'sculpted' bunkers and contoured or sloped greens.
The spectacular par three 7th hole is destined to be much talked about! It plays steeply downhill with a 30m drop across the canyon, requiring careful club selection, to a large undulating green nestling within a grove of olive trees. A long winding cart path takes one down to the green and then up out of the canyon for added thrills!

This centre presents itself in the most impressive manner, from arrival to departure. A more dramatic and spectacular course you couldn't hope to experience! Playing there in November was a fantastic experience with temperatures in the low 20s it was ideal, although the twilight start time we were allocated made it a race against the dark towards the end of the round (1230 start!) The course is a masterpiece of design with at least a dozen 'feature' holes which contributed to the spectacle. Beautifully manicured and cared for it is an oasis of green in a barren landscape. Generous fairways and big greens (the fastest you will ever play) make it appropriate for the medium to highly skilled players. The course wends its way through dramatic ravines, which are a major feature of the course. Buggies are compulsory since there are a number of holes with a distance from greens to next tee. Buggy tracks are also compulsory, which can make the round very slow, which, added to the variety of nationalities and abilities of player on the course, can lead to a six hour plus round. If the buggies were allowed on the fairways, as the marshals ordered us to do in order to complete the round, there would be no problem! But, having said all that, I can't wait to play there again, a most memorable experience!
