Course Reviews Resort course layout of 6,500 yards with a SSS of 71 strokes. I played in 2008 (twice), and recently in June 2013 (four times) the 2013 course has been changed a little but still retains its cosmetic appeal. Playing off a handicap of 10 the layout is not all that difficult providing you keep the ball on the fairway, off the fairway balls can be easily lost, in the many drains, and water traps so if your driving is a bit erratic take extra ammunition with you. Greens are slow to medium in pace so the lower handicapper may well find this a problem early on, but they are flat. Water everywhere, and bunkers in abundance - its good fun.
All in all this track is a great holiday course with the opportunity to score very low, the ambience is lovely, so if you have the chance to play Fontenelles then don't miss it. 40 euro per round May - June in July prices do go up.
Off Course :- Bistro - Bar is friendly offering snacks and meals from 11:30 am each day. Restaurant is recommended locally but is pricey Golf Reception is open from 8:30 with English speaking receptionists. Course can get busy so book in advance if you can.

Back again after a few years. The layout has altered now start and finish in front of club house. Much better. Course not improved, greens not very good. At 55 euros, high season starts 1st May it is about 15 euros over priced.

Played this course in early April 2006 with my wife. At that time of year the course can be quite wet. The greens were not in great condition, it had been a very wet and cold winter. An ideal course for holiday golf with generous fairways and a lake. The whole of Fontenelles is being made into a holiday resort with apartments, villas etc. There is a large pool and children's area. It would be an ideal destination for families with golfing parent/parents.
