Location
Golf du Cognac is situated 3 km East of Cognac between Saint-Brice and Bourg-Charente and not very far from Jarnac.
From the A10 Paris - Bordeaux motorway, take the Saintes exit then the RN 141 / E 603 Saintes - Cognac road.
Just before you get to Cognac, follow the signs to Angoulême (either take the by-pass, or drive through the town centre).
At the large roundabout just outside Cognac, take the Saint-Brice road (The Club is signposted from there) and turn right at the next roundabout.

Located on the banks of the river Charente between Cognac and Jarnac, this course is a gently-sloping course with three ponds twisting and turning between vineyards and woodland. Experienced golfers will enjoy playing holes 12, 15 and 17 which are particularly difficult.
It has hosted the "Omnium Dames" in which the best French Pro & Amateur Lady players compete.

This gem of a golf course meanders through gently sloping vinyards belonging to the family Martell who initiated the construction of it about 3 decades ago.
The clubhouse is a well-designed extention to a centuries old Charentaise barn complex. The restaurant terras is spacious with generous views onto the 18th & 9th greens.
Across the quiet road there are ample practice facilities such as a driving range and a vast chipping area. The oval practice green is situated right in the middle of the inner court yard bordered by long lines of old white-washed barnes.
The friendly course, it's staff and members, the laid-back atmosphere and no-pretence attitude has won us over instantly; this is a place we can easily call 'home'!

This could be a very attractive course, the layout is good and it's set in a scenic location but the greens are truly appalling, the worst I've ever played by a long way and I've been playing some 50 years.
Even if the greens were in good order the fees are too expensive for the quality of the course.
Also be sure to confirm your booking in writing, my party were charged 20% more than had been quoted and despite being booked no buggies were available.
