Difficult hillside 18 holes course. Only on 5 holes one can
actually see the flag from the tee and it's up and down all
the time. This together with a par 5 of 523 m. and even one
of 537 m. (uphill!!) make it understandable that hcp 36 players
get an extra 4 strokes when playing stableford.
Alternative routing is the common approach on this course.
A player with a driver carry over 210 m. can look for risky
shortcuts on 7 or 8 holes.
Holes are well garded by bunkers and one par 3 even by two
old trees that demand a high 175 m. pitch. Fairways ask for
precise striking with water, bunkers, doglegs ("not another
one...") and trees on driver-distances. Good
thing is that the beautiful view of the surrounding that the
course offers will cheer you up instantly from that double-boggy.
The course is located in former Eastern Germany. Meaning that
there ain't much to do in the area, but also that greenfees
are cheap, as well as food, drinks and room prices and that
the people are very friendly.
I have been there once, and I am most certainly coming back,
despite the 4,5 hours drive from The Netherlands
