"Gramacho" - "In the Nick Price style, the wonderful characteristics already existing on the site, from the boulder outcrops and dry stone walling to the fig, carob and olive trees, have been complemented by artfully positioned lakes and bunkers. These hazards, combined with the design of the greens and fairways, result in a challenging but attractive course."
"The Pinta Course was 8 consecutive times host to the Seniors Tour. The fairways are Bermuda grass, while strategically positioned sand bunkers protect the greens, clad in Pen Cross Bent, and two ornamental lakes influence play at four different holes around the course.
The rolling terrain is dotted with carob, fig, almond and olive trees, some of which are more than 600 years old, and a very special feature of this course is one olive tree that dates back more than 1200 years.
The dogleg trajectory for all the par 4 and 5 holes emphasizes the need for skilful driving. The size of the greens is specifically matched to the length of the approach shot."

Reviews
Pinta & Gramacho are stunningly beautiful and never disappoint and this week was no different - just watch out the final 5 holes are tough up & down so make sure you have plenty water & energy approaching them.
The greens are slower than the razor fast ones at Gramacho and have less severe undulations.
Overall - Magnificent

Gramacho -
Absolutely beautiful - amongst my favourite courses in Portugal with magnificent views across to Carvoeiro and the Monchique mountains in the distance.
The greens have huge undulations and can get lightening fast - not for the nervy !!
Every hole on the course is picture postcard stuff with two large lakes forming some lovely holes around 9,10,11 and 17. The view from the patio at the clubhouse looking down the 18th fairway in my opinion is the finest view in golf - absolutely stunning.
