27-hole championship course, 3 loops of nine, all starting and finishing in close proximity to the Clubhouse:
Pines (Pinheiros) - Corks (Sobreiros)
- Olives (Oliveiras)
The original 18 holes were designed by Ronald Fream and the additional 9 holes, created by George Santana da Silva, opened in 2007.
Location
Located in the Ria Formosa National Park, Quinta do Lago, Algarve, 15km from Faro and 5 minutes from extensive unspoilt beaches
Facilities
• Clubhouse with views over the course & lakes / Large terrace
• Golf Academy inaugurated in 2003, by Lee Westwood / Indoor and outdoor videos bays, treatment and physiotherapy rooms, junior golf clinics, putting and chipping greens
The Pines, named after the abundance of pine trees, opened in 2007. Its "signature hole is the ninth, a beautiful Par 3 over a valley to a McKenzie green while the par 5 fourth hole is the epitome of 'risk and reward' golf course design." The Pinheiros Altos Corks Course (Sobreiros) is the longest of the three nine holes and regarded as the most demanding.
The first tee shot is one of the most demanding in the Algarve but the view from there is some form of consolation. The Pinheiros Altos Olives Course group formed the original back nine and has remained unchanged since the island green eighth hole - the signature hole - was constructed in 1995.

Reviews
Lovely course - there are three 9s and we played the Olives & Figs this year - the Figs are particularly nice with a lovely dogleg 1st and a huge hogsback 18th green following an island par 3 on 17.
But beware the par 5s are brutally long.
Value For Money: Good
