The course staged the Portugal Open (in 1992 and 1993), and its value was recognised in 1996 with the award by Green Globe of the Green Flag (certification of conformity with environmental standards) and the Best Golf Development award in 2001, which was presented by Sir Eric Pickles, a Member of the British Parliament.

Reviews
Am going back for a third time in 2011 and cant wait. Wonderful facilities and a superb clubhouse.
The course is long and challenging with some beautiful holes. I would advise a buggy to get round as its a long haul carrying your bag. One of the best courses i have ever played and imo the best on the Vila Sol trail.
The road side par 5 6th hole is superb with a long drive needed to lay up before the water. Then a long second shot is needed to clear the pond before a nicely protected green is awaiting. The par 3 7th is a 170 yard carry over water with a high back to the green and is a real delight to play.
The 18th is all you would want to finish your round and get in for a deserved pint.
Im sure you will enjoy.
