"The lack of houses in the course, 36 holes, its privileged location on the bank of the Guadiana River, the fantastic views to Portugal and to the mouth of the river, the little distance to the beach, all the comforts and the complementary offer of the Resort, make this club a golfers paradise."
The West Course is a long course of American style, with very wide fairways, and exquisite shaping of the greens, with spectacular views to Portugal and to the Guadiana River.
The East Course is quite long as well ... is very well integrated in the slope towards the salt marshes of the Guadiana River, and with views to the sea and the town of Ayamonte. It is a more technical course than the West one.

Reviews
The first six holes of the West Course at Costa Esuri sit on reclaimed land right alongside the magnificent Guadiana River which forms the border between Spain and Portugal. Even in high summer, the wind can blow hard off the sea and up and down the river and it is pretty changeable, making these holes a real links challenge. The sixth hole, a terrific par 5, climbs up from the riverside to a two tier green nestling between two ruined cottages (very picturesque). Then you are over to the high tee of the seventh with wonderful views over the river to Portugal and out to sea. It's a hole that demands a great drive down to the fairway below. Most of the rest of the holes veer between the low foothills and back down to the riverside. The 12th is a great par 3 with a carry over water, and there is lots of water to contend with on other holes too. The course is long (perhaps too long if you are not a long hitter- I can't reach any of the par 3s with an iron ! or a number of Par 4s in two) with some generous fairways and a sprinkling of young trees which will undoubtedly make this a tougher test as they mature. It's a great course in the making and is usually kept in very good condition. The clubhouse is a rather ugly building which overlooks the driving range but none of the holes on the course, which is a pity; but you can get some good and well-priced food there. And there is a very good teaching pro, Chris Truter, on hand if you need a bit of help. This course, which is only about six years old, is a great addition to the courses on the Costa de la Luz and if you are holidaying in the Eastern Algarve, well worth a hop over the border.
