About the Course "From a commanding position in the Cotswolds, breathtaking views are available over an area taking in the Forest of Dean, Severn Vale, the Malverns - and beyond to the Black Mountains and the Brecons."...
'The starting hole, at 558 yards in length, was once the longest first in the country. At the 9th, historic Roman works punctuate the terrain. On arrival at the 8th, you will have reached the highest point in the Cotswolds.
The 13th is a tremendous par 5 - with its green at the centre of an Iron Age fort. Encircled by an earth bank and a ditch, it is probably the world's oldest man-made golf hazard!"

Probably the best and most challenging municipal course in the area. Always well drained. A good mix of holes with lots of changes in altitude, (be warned!) side-hill lies and deceptive distances. A few blind drives but trust the marker posts and all good. Extremely helpful and friendly Pros and clubhouse staff and also does an excellent Sunday Lunch. Often been able to walk on. Also has a practise green (with two flag positions) behind 18th that you can chip up to. all in all one of my favourite courses, both for the golf and the views.
