The course lies under the scarp edge of the Cotswolds and as a result there are many very tricky lies and borrows to overcome. The fact that there is a total lack of fairway bunkers on the course often goes unnoticed, the trees themselves provide quite enough problems for the wayward shot.

Reviews
Excellent condition, infinite variety as always with a MacKenzie course. Great thing is the continuing keepers of the Course have never sought to improve the Course, as it is already perfect, unlike some clubs who think they know better than the experts. The greens are amazing, always in great condition, fast with many wicked but fair slopes. It's a very busy course so always ring. Food is very well prepared and a good price... Overall, I think proper golfers will enjoy the complexities of the challenge, I have played here probably 50 times and look forward to it every time. It is possibly the most enjoyable course in Gloucestershire. Lots of specimen trees and no rough, but miss the fairway and you will find your ball and will have to punch a low 3 iron or chip out sideways, very proud of their Augusta designer and set the course up in a similar fashion, which works well. Pretty course all year, spring through autumn very special.
