A
challenging 9 hole course. There are many trees and lots of
water, which add to the difficulty. Iain Lock
It is a challenging 9 hole, situated close to Tadley. Its main asset is the variety of holes it has to offer, all of which make fine use of the contours and wooded terrain. The best hole on the course is the par 3 5th: played from an elevated tee to a green guarded by water, bunkers and rough, this hole requires skilled club selection, especially when the pin is at the front of the green (the green slopes from back to front).
It should be noted that this is a course for the thinker: it's all about placing your drives in the correct part of the fairway to be able to attack the greens. Anyone missing a fairway here will do well to make a par, even on the shorter holes.
It can be a bit wet in the winter, but it's a peaceful place to enjoy a round and the green staff are very attentive to the condition of the greens. Paul Skeates February 4, 2009
