Founded in 1899.
Cecil Baracroft laid out an excellent eighteen holes over the superb wooded and undulating site. Tom Simpson assisted by Molly Gourlay was commissioned in 1937 to redesign some ten greens and most of the bunkers.
The "Oakpark Course" opened in 2002.
Location
On the N9, 50 miles from Dublin, and only 30 minutes from the K-Club (host to the 2006 Ryder Cup) and with Mount Juliet and Mount Wolseley just around the corner.
Carlow Golf Club has hosted the 2002 Irish Close Championship and the 2005 World One-Arm Championship, and is the home of Ireland's oldest scratch cup, the Midland Scratch Cup.
