This is without question a master class in golf course design. Born in 1999 Palmerstown house was designed by the living legend of Irish golf Christy O Connor Jr. From the opening few holes you realise you`ve come somewhere special. It would be impossible to pick a signature hole as the coures has so many great holes to choose from, personally my favorite`s are the 4th with the tee set back in a funnel of matrue tree`s then bursting out on the fairway with an approach to a kind of island green with water front & back and tree`s left & right, the 6th big par 5 water down the left from tee to green a large landing area, for your 2nd the lay up area looks tight as the water cut`s in but there`s room 3rd`s played too a raised two tier green that slope`s back to front a tough hole, 9th`s a beast of a par5 treble dogleg never played a hole like it, the 10th par3 island green surrounded by sand the biggest bunkers I`ve seen never mind played in great hole, 14 & 16 two great par5`s water running the lenght of both holes true player`s hole`s have you got the cahonas to go for it in 2 or lay up & stay safe. The course itself is layed out in one big loop with the big house set on top of the hill over looking the front nine and it was reported that 3million was spent on putting in mature tree`s alone and no expense spared when it came to the locker rooms either sauna and steam rooms await the battered body as for value for money golf meal & pint 49e thats a winter rate summer is around 65e I think there`s a grill with that all in all a superb place to come and play highly recommend a visit.
