Founded in 1936 the golf course was upgraded to 18 holes in
1974.
Location
Courtown Golf Club is situated about 1 hour's drive from
the ports of Rosslare and Dun Laoghaire, 3 miles from the
town of Gorey and just off the N11.

Clubhouse with a panoramic view of the course and the Irish
Sea beyond.

"Courtown was built on a piece
of land that was once part of the old Courtown estate. Indeed
evidence of the estate can still be seen, not least in the names
of some of the holes: The Kennels, Earl's Rest, Lady's Field
and Carriage Drive being notable examples."
Although its boundaries come within 100 metres of the sea, Courtown
is actually a parkland course.
It is surrounded on three sides by forestry and the course boasts
thousands of trees, in fact every fairway is tree lined to reward
the accurate golfer and punish the wayward.
