About
Prince's
Prince's hosted the Open Championship in 1932, won by the legendary Gene Sarazen who invented the modern sand wedge, and Sarazen's own prototype sand wedge can be seen in Prince's clubhouse. The links is currently an Open Championship Local Final Qualifying venue, and has hosted events such as the Amateur Championship with co-hosts and neighbour Royal St George's, the Glenmuir PGA Club Professional Championship, the Ladies' British Open Amateur Strokeplay Championship, the EGU County Championship Finals.
Prince’s has been selected by the R&A to host the 36-hole stroke-play qualifying for the 2013 Amateur Championship, along with its close neighbour Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club at Deal.
Course Reviews Absolutely stunning piece of historic golfing links. Played on a beautiful sunny day in October, played the Himalayas and Shore, both in excellent condition, Himalayas the easier of the 2 nines but nevertheless a great test of golf. Shore course was very tough in the wind , but absolutely fantastic condition and the greens were superb. Well worth playing and the clubhouse and members were very friendly and welcoming.

I was really looking forward to princes having not played links golf before. Unfortunately all the bunkers were declared GUR and as these are a great feature of links courses more than a little annoying. Lots of ground staff working on the course getting ready for the open qualifiers, just made the place look a little tired. Worst of all was the offical who asked us if we could consume our coffee and bacon rolls in seven minutes as he had Oxford and Cambridge universities playing their annual competition and we needed to hurry along as they would catch us.
All in all a poor day
Paul Blunden March 30, 2011

Not as challenging or famous as its neighbours - Royal St Georges and Royal Cinque Ports - Prince's is easier to get a game on though ! (and cheaper... slightly). Three lots of nine holes and links golf of the finest tradition. Impossible when the wind blows to shoot your handicap, almost always some kind of breeze off the sea which is very close with no protection at all. Course is in excellent shape, not overly long, Himalaya's is the easiest 9, if you're straight off the tee. Nice modern clubhouse.
