Reviews
Quite a short course for 18 holes, but no par 5's and 8 par 3's. Two of the par fours are 450 yards though. In three parts you have to cross a road a couple of times, the first part just has the 1st, 16th, 17th & 18th, the second part has most of the course in with a little "Amen Corner" of three par 3's seperate. A few holes are a bit hilly, quite links style, with a few small trees in places, rough not too bad but the fairways are quite generous, greens though are small. Par 3's range from about 100 yards to 250 yards, a couple rather blind with the greens obscured by front bunkers. Quite an easy course to play 36 holes on without taking up the whole day. Have been there on lots of occasions and have never had a bad experience - apart from playing like a 50 handicapper of course !

First hole is into a bit of valley with maybe a 75 yard carry over some rough, quite a pressure shot as your overlooked by the proshop and clubhouse and there is no driving range to warm up on ! Watch out for the bunkers too, the sand is quite shallow in places.

Westgate and Birchington is a good course with exciting and challenging holes. the 13th 14th and 15 th holes are a good test of skill for beginners.
