This is a nice municipal course but can be a nightmare/
not worth it in the winter as the holes and greens can be
underwater. The drainage is not the greatest but when the
weather is dry Iwould rate it as one of the best municipals
in the area. Drew April 12, 2006
With undulating fairways and the odd bunny or two around
every forest glade this course offers much for the professional
and the amateur alike. Driving down into the sunset on the
18th hole at dusk is paralleled only by a west coast sundown
in the Thai Gulf. Two thumbs up. Fiver July 5, 2006
For the 4th year we've had our works comp here. It's a beautiful
course and through summer in great shape, a little bit forgiving
but challenging aplenty in design. Great VFM. Phil Q August 9, 2006
duxbury golf course if u can call it a course it must be the worst conditioned course ive ever played greens are **** fairways grass is to long rough on the fairway and thats if its dry it must have the worst drainage system ever... avoid at all costs. Rob Hodson October 13, 2009
Could be a great course but for the incompetent and money grabbing management company that operate it. Strategy appears to be to milk the course for every penny in the short-term via shoe horning as many players on at the same time - regardless of whether they know the correct end of a golf club. This was the first time I played at Duxbury and was pleasantly suprised by the approach to the course and also the modern facilities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was not the best of days with regular showers throughout the game and more hazards had developed due to the bunkers retaining the rain over the days making more man made lakes and the ground in many places was very boggy. I would imagine that this course would be great to play in the summer months and will be one of the courses we will be using next summer by our golf association. I do feel that more directions should be in place on the course as some of the hole numbers were not apparent on the tees and I know that not only ourselves but several others were struggling to identify which hole was next.
