This course is having some serious redevelopment work done at the moment, it currently has ten of its new holes included in the 18. Wow! Can you tell the difference. The new holes have undulating fairways and features with generous tee beds and the new greens are as good as you are able to play on anywhere, it cost me a tenner better value somewhere else, not a chance! Yes there's a heck of a lot of redevelopment work going on at the minute. There are 2 temporary greens, 6 of the old geens and 10 brand new greens. I'd like to challenge anyone to find better greens anywhere in the northwest than the 10 new greens. And i've been told there will be 6 more new greens opening in spring 2008. I have been a member here for quite a few years now, the construction work has been quite disruptive at times and from what i believe it may still take another couple of years to finish. But the wait will be well worth while! I was talking to some of the workmen the other week, they have recently rebuilt holes at Royal Birkdale, Moortown and Carnoustie. Can't be too bad can it? This course just gets better every time I play it. There's 18 brand new holes open now and every one is a gem. Big smooth greens, lovely big flat tees, massive bunkers. It costs me £12 a round midweek, cheaper than any of the muni's but 100 times better. bob62 June 24, 2009
This course is simply brilliant. Superb layout, big level tees, massive deep bunkers and the greens, well, you will have to look very hard to find any better. Anywhere! I pay £12 a round during the week and it's worth every penny. If it said marriot on the end of the drive it would be £60 a round. Brian Smith November 6, 2009
