Course Description Attractive and gently undulating parkland on the Lune Estuary. Does not have a weak hole. Watch out for the classic dogleg 9th and the demanding 17th, known as 'Braids Best'. Ashton Hall, which once hosted medieval kings, is the impressive clubhouse.
Lancaster Golf Club has hosted:
. 2007 Lancashire Amateur Championships
. 2011 Lady Derby Trophy Finals
. 2011 EGU Northern Seniors Competition

Lancaster is one of the regions top venues, and apart from Golf is steeped in history dating back to the 13th century. The layout is very good and deserves its reputation for being a championship track, although at 6.500 yards is short by today's professional standards. Nevertheless for players above low single figures you'll need to be on your game to score well as there are no easy holes. Lancaster is a players venue so if you are bringing a society be sure that the standard is good or else you may find your round is a long one. For me the 9th hole is the best (St Ledger) the final hole Par 3 is quite a challenge Par this and you'll leave the place happy.
Club House is majestic, Food is OK, Friendliness could do with a little improvement but nothing to worry about. Dress Code always in force. Well worth a knock - Not Cheap.

This is one of the best courses I have ever played and the par 4 ninth is a real mind boggler!
