About the Course Royal Lytham & St Annes is one of the premier links courses in the world, host to eleven Open Championships, two Ryder Cups, numerous other major tournaments including the Women's and Seniors Open Championships and the Walker Cup in 2015.

Royal Lytham is a true links course set back from the sea, yet "close enough for the sea breeze to have an effect on one's game" as Bernard Darwin put it.

Prior to the return of the Open Championship to Lytham in 2012, the course was lengthened, new dune humps created along the 2nd, 3rd and 16th holes, the 7th Green repositioned and some new bunkers and swales put in.
