For a 18 hole and separate 9 holer public course, Lullingstone offers a good compromise between flexibility, value and hilly aspects, hence plenty of tricky sloping lies. It's relatively long and although public are free to walk, or horseback through at their leisure, this is rarely a problem. The course only gets slow in the peak season. It can get dry by end of summer, but to complain about its maintenance would be unfair.
Near to the M25 but not the easiest to find (and road signs amusingly rotated) so plan ahead.
Overall verdict - Well worth a go.

You will need to be playing some of your best golf to get a good score at Lullingstone Park. It looks a lot easier to play than it is. The sometimes narrow, sloping fairways, and raised greens, offer as much of a challenge to a low handicap golfer, as they would to a relative beginner. The course is always kept in excellent condition, better than many ive played at that have charged me twice as much. Well worth a visit!

This is an excellent and challenging golf course. in my opinion, there is not a single hole you could label as "easy". The hilly surroundings and very sloping fairways, added to raised greens make for a very difficult golfing experience. I would definitely recommend it here.

I've only been playing golf for around 6 months in earnest, and quite frankly, Lullingstone is a terror of a course when you're starting out. It's very rare to get a flat lie to play off, the rough is unforgiving and many of the par 4's are around the 400yard mark. But now having played a few more courses in the region, I avoid playing anywhere else, as it's the challenge that a new determined golfer needs. Many of the other courses locally offer no challenge at all, even to my borderline useless skills, and the scenery is really quite remarkeable, though the rabbits are making a bit of a mess of the fairways at this time of year. Very well maintained, compares to the 120 Euro course recently played in Majorca for majestic rather than manicured beauty. I do like a bit of rough though.

Can be a terribly busy course with log jam points. Played one year and there were four 4 balls queing at the 2nd. We had a 6 hour round that day.
Subject to the weather Lullingstone's condition can be rock hard in summer and boggy when wet.
Pretty course though and pretty challenging.
NB. The 18th was under reconstruction when we played which made the hole a little disconcerting.
Overall though one of the better pay and play golf courses.
