It's been a while since you were there 'Hacker'! I am slightly biaised being a member of APGC, but playing this week on a beautiful Autumn morning, with the incredible colours in the mature trees Arrowe is famous for, I felt compelled to write.
Greens have been excellent all year, bunkers regularly raked, although could do with a little more sand (golfers are never happy!), and overall course is playing very well.
This is a mature municipal course, so it won't always be perfect, but vast majority of golfers will thoroughly enjoy a round here.

If this course was a woman, it would be screaming out for a makeover. There is a hidden beauty here, masked by tatty tees, unraked and unkempt bunkers and litter blowing around. This, coupled with poorly maintained paths and other features takes away from the potential beauty of the course. Little attention is given to finer detail, which spoils the overall appearance. For example, the tee markers are something you would expect on a seaside pitch and putt, and the yardage markers are neither use nor ornament. Any course official reading this please wander to the third tee and explain how the red yardage can be further to the green than the whites. The greens are actually remarkably well kept, and are noticeable in their condition. The club house / cafe is clean and functional with a good pro's shop and a large car park. This gives a good pointer to how the course appears to be run - the car park gets full as the course squeezes as many golfers onto it as they are able. Pile em high and sell em cheap would be a suitable motto here. This is a lamb dressed as mutton course, and could easily be made premier with a modicum of investment. Currently this is operating in the Netto league of courses, but scratch away the surface and here is a waitrose underneath. Will it change? I very much doubt it as long as the pounds keep rolling in and the old lady keeps taking the hammering.

Arrowe Park is a great course to start your golf career. It is a well maintained course. The green are in fairly neat condition, the rough is well kept and the fairways are reasonably wide. I really enjoy regularly playing at Arrowe Park and recommend it to all age groups.

This course has nice, lush fairways, with plenty to aim for. The greens are very well kept and give you a challenge.
It is situated near woodland and once in those woods, it is hard to get out. There are several water hazards, which is also a priority to avoid. So overall I personally recommend Arrowe Park to everybody, and enjoy the next round just as much as the last.

Nice municipal course. Set in a wooded area, nice scenery, etc. The fairways are fairly wide, the rough is well maintained and the greens are in quite good condition. Very enjoyable course to play. Friendly staff in reasonably priced equipment shop & cafe. £10 per round is certainly great value for this course.
