The Club was formed in 1896.
Location
Situated close by the Irish Sea between Southport and Liverpool, the course is easily reached from the national motorway network. N side of town, off A565, less than 6 miles from Royal Birkdale.
Home made catering can be enjoyed in either the comfort of the Dining Room or the more informal conservatory style "Monkey House" which provides excellent views over the links.
Played this course 02.01.12 with three friends, conditions cold and windy but that didn't spoil a very enjoyable days golf. A nice steady 4 hour round followed by soup and sandwiches in the nice surroundings of the club house. The course was in superb condition considering the amount of rain we have had, no standing water anywhere plenty of run on the fairways ( and in the heather), greens were small but very good, the winter special deal works out at £31.00 each including the soup and sandwiches. A no brainer for anyone who can't put their clubs away for winter.
