West Lancashire has been a final qualifying course for The Open in 1976, 1983, 1991, 1998 and most recently in 2006. The Club will once again host final qualifying this year as The Open returns to Royal Birkdale.
Course Reviews
I played the course in September while in Liverpool for business and having some spare time. It was my first time in a British links course and I found it great. People (Secretary, Pro) very very kind.
The course very challenging, especially because of the wind. Well maintained, and the rough is true rough...no escape! Amazing view over the sea.
Comfortable lockers. A wonderful experience, especially if compared to our boring, snobbish Italian golf clubs....
