Course Description High parkland course with USGA sand-based greens for good year-round play. The 8th, the signature hole at The Wychwood, requires a blind tee shot over the crest of the hill should favour the left side, this sets up a long approach to a green surrounded by trees and protected by water. The green slopes from back to front and will comfortably hold a long iron/wood approach. Water in play on 11 holes.

Reviews

This is a very well groomed challenging par 72 course. Several water hazards add extra interest and when the trees mature it will make this course a superb test for the average golfer. Club staff are freindly and approachable and the facilities available are very good. The clubhouse is very comfortable and the newly extended function room, with roof balcony offers excellent views of the whole course and in particular the 18th green. The course gets busy on Friday's and over the weekend so visitors must pre-book.

My second visit to the Wychwood was with our society and what a fantastic day we had! The course played very long due to less than favourable conditions but was in very good condition. The greens are tricky to read and challenging also a little slow. There are some good looking holes which run parallel to the railway track. They can get a bit damp in the winter so try and fly the ball to the greens (even though there are a couple that resemble the 17th at Sawgrass. There are also a few holes which offer big birdie chances for the medium - long hitters especially 18.
Special thanks must go to the staff from the Pro in the shop, the chef and his staff (top quality food in our package!!), the halfway house guy (and barman !! ) and especially Sue for her organisation and patience.
Strongly recommend a round around this course.
