Heythrop Park is a historic country manor commissioned by the then Earl of Shrewsbury, Charles Talbot and built in the early 18th Century.
Heythrop is quite centrally located and is close to Stratford-Upon-Avonn Henley-on- Thames, Blenheim Palace, Warwick, Oxford and Silverstone Racetrack.
The 18 hole layout follows a route over a tree-lined landscape and owes much to the traditional values designer Tom MacKenzie brings to his task. He says: "I like to create courses that sit comfortably in their setting offering a wealth of shot making permutations particularly around the greens".
Course Reviews
Well worth trying out if you intend a holiday or even a weekend, in that part of the world. You are more than likely to find some rather excellent and surprisingly inexpensive deals going, via the Internet - and I can personally vouch for the fact that the sheer beauty of the Main Building, the scenery around, the bar's selection of wines and spirits, the breakfast, AND the Golf, will make it worth your while!
