I played this course 24/9/2014 with friends in a golf society and found everyone most welcoming. The excellent clubhouse was bedecked with European and USA flags and bunting in readiness for this weekends Ryder Cup.
The course isn't unduly long, but is quite tough as there are a lot of undulations meaning a lot of sidehill lies. The fairways were in excellent condition as were the greens. There are quite a few bunkers, and sadly I found too many. Having said that, they too were in excellent condition and perhaps more importantly all seemed very consistent. There are a lot of trees lining the course, but there is no real rough amongst them so finding balls was never a problem.
My only (very minor) gripe was that there were a couple of holes where you were playing across another fairway/green. But this really didn't impact on the playing of the holes.
The few members we came across were very pleasant and welcoming and the same goes for the groundstaff.
The clubhouse was superb, as were the staff therein. The food we had was excellent and the drinks were very well priced as well.
Highly recommended. We will be going back as a society, and though it was about 140 miles away for me, I will try and return with some other friends as well.
