Wells is a beautiful, wooded parkland course with a variety of lovely views to the magnificent cathedral and beyond to the Mendip Hills.
It is designed on two levels. Holes 2 to 11 circle the hills and offer fine scenic views and undulating fairways which provide some interesting lies. The 12th hole from its elevated tee is played down to a double green by the Clubhouse. The remaining holes play along the valley where accurate drives are essential.

Reviews
The fourth of 6 courses we played on our visit to England.
A friendly reception and decent clubhouse but the course!!!
In places you'd be forgiven for thinking you were playing on an Austrian mountain-side. Dragging the trolley there regularly would sure make you fit.
There were some real interesting holes there that we'll remember; however the course was BADLY let down by the quality of the greens. Even taking into account they had recently been spiked (and didn't look like they had been dressed afterwards), many were in a poor condition; the ball often looked like it was on a horses hurdle course.
In a perverse sort of way, we enjoyed our round.. but don't think we'd go back again.
