Golf came to Great Barr in 1935, the game was played over a series of Hawthorn hedged fields which the members shared with the farmers sheep. In 1961 the Club became Great Barr Golf Club Ltd. as it is today.
Location Nestling at the foot of Barr Beacon, a local beauty spot, ideally situated only 6 miles to the North East of Birmingham, and a stone's throw from junction 7 of the M6.
