Reviews This is one of the most challenging public courses you will find in England.Picturesque yet devilishly hard, you play the 18 holes, then wonder where all those shots went.A+++++++

This course may not look long on the yardage compared to some courses but it plays very long. Distance is sometimes needed of the tee more than accuracy. The back 9 is in better condition but not as challenging as the front 9. The greens are slow even in hot weather, but all in all a very good municipal course. Watch out for the people just wandering around on the back 9, locals.

A very good course for beginners, with wide open fairways meaning lost balls are rare. The course plays very long, not far off 7000 yards, but is in good condition so reaching the greens in regulation is possible if you hit the ball well.
The only downside is the lack of distance markers and a course map. It means that playing there for the first time you will often have no idea of club selection when approaching the green.
Finally the last hole currently has a large bank of earth along the left. When this gets grown over it will create an intimidating 'stadium' type hole to finish the round, and really allow you to attack the pin.
The cafe is recommended, with coffee and a sandwich for £3.
All round a good days golf for any budget, I will certainly go again

Course itself is quite a challenge with the greens in particular in very good condition, the back Nine is more of a challenge and interesting and the course has some very nice par 3 holes,However the course etiquette leaves a little to be desired with golfers allowed to wear trainers and Jeans on the course and play in 5 balls (we got stuck behind 2 of them) the clubhouse is a bit run down and grubby and the pro shop has little in the way of Golf Garb or goodies and is very basic.

since jack barker took over the the course has gone down hill fast. all he wants to do is tip his rubble all over, the par 3 17th has had half the fairway dug up,and the rest of the course is next....thank you JACK BARKER for ruining our course and thank you TAMWORTH COUNCIL for allowing it...value for money ...rubbish,all the greens have disease on them.

Mixed thoughts about this course after playing it for the 1st time today, good start as on the 1st tee, 2 groups let us go ahead of them - thanks guys, at the 5th we got stuck behind a slow and short hitting 3 ball, who despite us dropping several hints refused to let our 2 ball past all the way round even when 2 of them packed up on the 13th,the single player remaining decided to play even slower!.As for the course the 15th is poor as half of the hole is a landfill site and yes the greens are not the best and half the tee shots are from the dreaded winter mats, that said for £10 its not a bad course which is fairly open so you can let rip without too many problems, worth a 2nd round imo
