The course is picturesque and has all the features - plenty of water/sand hazards, perfectly kept fairways and greens, and rolling hills with mature trees. But ultimately it gets the basics wrong. The holes are too short and easy. I drove a few par 4s in the rain. Then there's the tee offs - the weather was foul so I only played a dozen holes, but on no less than four of those holes the tee offs were aiming at, or ludicrously close to, the previous green! There was no mention of looking out for golfers, only excessive warnings about the risk of hitting jockeys/horses on the adjacent racecourse. There were no safety nets anywhere. I would not return to this beautiful course, and hate to think of how hazardous it must be on busy days. Harry May 27, 2008
The course as described by Harry is excellent and a challenge. The greens were in superb condition and amongst the best that I played during 2011. Yes the course is tight but it makes you think and play your shots. The golfer is well protected by the trees that have been strategically planted and I had no more concern than playing any golf course. Joe January 15, 2012
