Played here on Friday 9th May,as a 3ball.
Lots of wind to make it interesting, but very little rain.
We were greeted very well in the pro shop, before Sausage bap and coffee in the dining area.
Staff were very accommodating all day.
We played the morning round atb 9-30 to allow the members off first and had no-one in front or behind for the entire round.
A magnificent course, should be higher rated in the lists.
Felt the greens were the best I had played in the last twelve months, all ran true.I was reading turns that weren't there!
A nice variation of holes through the round, nothing tricked up with some short par 4s and dog legs to make you think.
Don't go in the bunkers or heather and you can score well.
Lunch had daily specials.I went for the Curried Cauliflower Soup followed by Fish Cakes, all superb.
Although the wind had picked up for the pm round(go off when you're ready),we scored better as we worked out the pace of the greens.
We let one 2ball when we lost a ball, but again very quiet course.
At £80 for the day I concur with all previous reviewers,if this was in Surrey, you would pay £150.
All in all a great set up,not a snooty club and we will be back

Ipswich golf club is a great club. Unlike a lot of other clubs it is extremely friendly, and everyone is welcome. It has an excellent balance of the old and the new, maintaining golfing traditions, where as at the same time using new tequniques, and keeping the club up with the latest technologie. The course itself is quite short, but fantasically designed, with really great carying golf, which is extremaly enjoyable. You can find all aspects of golf on the one course, and the surroundings a nd wildlife are fantastic. There is also an extremely popular fishing lake situated in among the course, membership for which is quite hard to come by. The nine hole course is also offers an excellent game, and great value for money. Both courses are extremely well kept and include fair way and greens watering systems bringing the courses as similar to american standard as is possible.
