North Downs Golf Club was founded in 1899 and was originally designed as a nine hole course. The course was extended to the current 18 holes by JJF Pennink in 1971.

Parkland course, one of the highest in England at 800-850 feet above sea level, with splendid views of the surrounding countryside and north towards the City of London.
It is a challenging course; the lack of length is more than compensated for by the relatively small, sloping greens guarded by numerous strategically placed bunkers and other hazards.
