About TeeGenius
Does it cost anything to join TeeGenius?
No. You can register for free and receive a host of great stuff including entry to our monthly prize draw, profile settings to make your future bookings easier and our monthly prize draw packed with golf news and special offers at courses near you.
Is this like other request services I have seen on the internet?
No. Our system has real-time links to automated tee-time booking systems at all of our member clubs. Your booking will be reserved automatically in the club's system at the moment you confirm with us.

Playing
Can anyone play at the clubs?
Yes. The golf clubs that you will find on the TeeGenius system are only part of the system because they want more visitors at their club. You can rest assured that if you book a course through TeeGenius you will be made most welcome by the golf course when you arrive to play.
Do I have to contact the golf course after making my booking?
No. When you make your booking, it is automatically confirmed with the club and your information will be passed through to them at that time. You will receive a booking reference that you should take with you on the day.
What do I have to do when I get to the course to play?
You will have to make yourself known to the course in the usual way, whether through the pro shop or starter’s hut. You will need to check in with them to get your green fee ticket but you will not need to pay anything. For legal reasons you will not be able to check in more than 2 hours before your tee-time.
What if one of my playing partners can't play?
If it is before 12:00 the day before your Tee-time then you can
remove someone from your booking at no cost. At the moment we are
not able to let you change your booking on our system, however we
are working on this and hope to have it for you soon. In the meantime
you will need to cancel, by going to the 'My TeeGenius' section
of TeeGenius.co.uk, into 'My Bookings', and clicking on the cancel
icon. You can then re-book with fewer players.
If it is after 12:00 the day before your Tee-Time then you will
need to call our customer services team on +44 (0)870 300 55 00
and we will assist you. A full explanation of our policy can be
found in our Terms
& Conditions. If you do not cancel or contact us then
you will be charged for the full amount of the booking regardless
of how many players arrive to play.
Do I need a handicap to play?
In most cases no. All of the golf courses you find on this site welcome new visitors and in most cases they do not require official handicaps for you to play. Like all clubs, they will ask you to follow their etiquette requirements as they like to see the game played properly but this is the same for any sport or club these days. You will be provided with the club’s etiquette requirements with your booking details.
What if I have more people that want to play?
If it is before 12:00 the day before your Tee-time then you can
add someone to your booking at no cost. At the moment we are not
able to let you change your booking on our system, however we are
working on this and hope to have it for you soon. In the meantime
you will need to cancel, then re-book with more players. To cancel,
go to the 'My TeeGenius' section of TeeGenius.co.uk, into 'My Bookings',
then click on the 'Cancel' icon where you will be given the option
to cancel bookings which are eligible for cancellation.
If it is after 12:00 the day before your Tee-Time then simply call
our customer services team on +44 (0)870 300 55 00 and we will assist
you. Alternatively you could just turn up to play and play for the
extras directly at the course. We strongly suggest however that
you book for the correct number of players, as many golf clubs reserve
the right to add people to your booking during busy periods. You
must also remember that there will normally be a maximum number
of players per group. This is usually four but may differ at some
clubs during certain periods.

Cancelling
Is there a cancellation charge?
No. You can cancel without financial penalty up to 2 hours before your Tee-Time and whether you receive a full refund or a voucher for the amount there is no cancellation or administration charge. You are not able to cancel after 2 hours before your tee-time therefore you will be charged the full amount of your booking.
Why do you have this cancellation policy?
Being golfers ourselves we understand how difficult it can be to arrange a time to play with your friends. We try to make things as easy as possible for you so we allow you to cancel without penalty for the longest period possible. We also hope that you understand that if you do cancel the club needs as much time as possible to try to re-sell that tee-time to someone else. It is likely that someone else would have been turned away because of your booking. It is for this reason that we have imposed the 12:00 the day before play rule as a cut off. In order to allow you the most flexibility this is also the point at which we take payment from you as we need time to make sure all the payments go through. Our voucher system was installed to help you cope with last minute problems such as, dare we mention it, the weather! If you are unable or unwilling to play at the last minute we don't want you to lose out so we offer to give you a voucher to book the same round again in the future. The golf clubs understand that these things sometimes happen and want to make it easy for you to play later.
Can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel up to 2 hours before your booked tee-time without
financial penalty. Cancellations after 12:00 the day before play
will not be refunded in cash but the payment will be forwarded to
you as a voucher. Cancellations within 2 hours of your tee-time
cannot be cancelled and therefore carry no opportunity for refund.
In summary:

- Up to two hours before the Tee-Time - a voucher for the full amount you paid
- Later than two hours before the Tee-Time - no cancellation is possible, so no refund
How do I cancel?
You can cancel by going to the 'My TeeGenius' section of TeeGenius.co.uk.
In the section called 'My Bookings' you can review your current
and past bookings and will be given the option to Cancel bookings
which are eligible for cancellation on this page. Alternatively
you can call our customer services team on +44 (0)870 300 55 00
and speak to one of the team of customer service agents.

Booking
Does it cost more to book through TeeGenius than directly at the club?
No. You will pay the same as you would pay if you booked directly with the golf club. We make our money from commission paid by the club so we do not need to charge you for making a booking. If you book through our call centre then we will apply a £1 per golfer charge to cover administration costs but we will only charge this if the same tee-time is available free of charge on our website.
There are two ways to make a booking through TeeGenius. On the
booking page of Golf Today you can search for a course and
receive a selection of Tee-time options by filling in your requirements
on the 'Book a Tee-Time' tab. You will be presented with a selection
of available times to choose from. To book one of these you need
simply click on it and follow the instructions. You can browse a
list of all courses offering this service by clicking here.
Alternatively you can ring the call centre on +44 (0)870 300 55
00 if you are unable to get access to the web. Here you can search
and book your Tee-times by speaking to one of our customer service
agents.

Discount Green Fee Vouchers
The course I have chosen accepts discount green fee vouchers.
Can I use these when making a booking?
No. The green fees quoted by the clubs in our system often vary
according to the time of day you wish to play. Discounts are frequently
offered at less busy times, for example at clubs which offer 'Twilight
Special' prices from 3pm onwards, and these discounts are visible
when you search and will be applied when you book.
Vouchers, such as GreenFree or 2-Fore!-1, only apply to the full,
standard, adult visitor green fee rates published by participating
clubs. You can of course play at your chosen course using discount
vouchers, but you will need to contact the club personally in advance
and obtain a tee-time from them, stating that you wish you use vouchers.

Searching
What do I do if there are no courses in my search area?
Firstly we are sorry that we can’t help you at the moment. We are expanding our coverage rapidly but there are still areas that we have no clubs linked in to our system. You can help us by filling in Suggest a course and telling us at which courses you want to book tee-times. We will then approach these clubs on your behalf and hopefully get their availability for you soon. In the meantime register with us and we will let you know when we have more courses in your area.
Do I have to search on the web?
No. You can call our call centre on +44 (0)870 300 55 00 and one
of our customer service agents will complete a search for you but
we do charge a £1 per golfer fee if you book through our call
centre. This charge is only to account for administration costs
and we will only charge for this if the same tee-time is available
free of charge on our website.

Paying
When do I have to pay?
We will take your payment details at the time you make your booking. We will charge your credit/debit card after 12:00 the day before your tee-time.
What are my payment options?
You can pay with most major credit and debit cards through our
secure online payment area hosted by SECPay. Alternatively you can
pay by speaking to one of our team of dedicated customer service
executives by calling our call centre on +44 (0)870 300 55 00. We
regret that we are unable to allow payment by cash or cheque at
this time.
