About Criccieth
The mountains of Snowdonia, the stunning coastline and historic landscape form a backdrop to this most spectacular and unique golf courses in North Wales.
Criccieth Golf Club has the distinction of having three 20th century Prime Ministers play the course on the same day ie: Andrew Bonar Law, David Lloyd George, and Winston Churchill.
The course is great fun, fantastic views and the club provided excellent food served by friendly staff. The cut on the greens was quite high but considering the weather we have had this summer is not surprising, whilst the fairways were generally dry. Although a short course some of the shots into the greens are quite daunting, especially the 9th (about 90' above the green, Par 3) & 11th (2nd across small pond, road and not a lot of landing space before the green). I would definitely recommend the course to higher handicap players as there is a great sense of achievement to be had with most of the greens reachable in 2. The locker room facilities are ok, don't expect DeVere type standard, the course is 2 x 9 with different tees on some of the holes.
