Played here on 1st Jan 2014. Great course. It is broken into two, separated by main road. The start of the back nine on the eastern side of the road, is quite flat. However, the front nine and last few holes of the back nine are totally different basically being constructed on the side of a mountain.
It is a very private club, however, they were quite open to visitors. My hotel called and booked me it and it was about a 15 minute cab ride from Copacabana Beach. They do not take credit cards, so have cash with you. Green fees are pricey as you would expect with a private club. Use of caddie is essential and they have hire clubs available. I quite liked the course. My caddie's only English was club's and distances. The course was challenging and thoroughly enjoyable, even with the heat of mid summer. Take plenty of water. Overall, great experience, even taking into account the price.
