The original nine holes laid out in
1913 and the course was further extended to eighteen holes in
1926, they have recently undergone a major reconstruction by
Peter Markovitch. |

Muthaiga Golf Club is located at the
edge of Karura forest, 15 kms from Nairobi City Centre. Take
Kiambu Road towards Kiambu you will find the Club about 200
metres further on the left. |

Treacherous beautifully landscaped sand bunkers await in front of the fastest greens in East Africa (Greens are irrigated), numerous trees and flowering bushes come into play on almost every hole and make this course one of the prettiest to play.
Muthaiga, which was one of the Kenya's pioneer golf courses is home to the Kenya Golf Union, is part of the safari circuit of the European PGA Challenge Cup and each year in March plays host to the Kenya Open Golf Championship - part of the European PGA. Past winners include Ballesteros, Woosnam, Canizares and Maarten Lafeber. It has been voted one of the top 10 golf courses in South Africa by S.A. Golf Digest. |

Muthaiga Golf Club is not only close to the Central Business District (compared to other golf courses) but is also neatly designed. The clubs is for members only although every now and then they host corporate golf events.
