The Old Foss has a challenging variety of holes, which includes a short par 3 over a pond to an island type green, varying lengths of par 4's and demanding par 5's. This makes an enjoyable and testing game for golfers of all abilities.
The West course has a blend of long and short holes which require good course management and careful shot making decisions.

Reviews
The Old Foss course is maturing into a fine test of golf with the eponymous beck featuring on a number of holes. A feature of the course is the three par 5 holes ranging from 519 to 597 yards you need to be a long straight hitter to score well, huge flat greens mean your lag putting needs to be good too. The second hole is also a tough one,the tree on the left hand side 50 yards from the tee ruining many medal cards. The 9 hole West course features many tight holes where placement is a priority over length. The par 3 6th with it's raised green and sentinal tree makes it a definite challenge to make par. We are members at forest park, it is a good all-round course. We are juniors and it is a challenging course. The pro (mark winterburn) is excellent and has made our golf 10000000000000000000000 times better!!!! If you are nearby definitely worth a round either 9 or 18 holes as it is also a fair price! A****

We played Forest Park recently on a society outing. I can't begin to explain how fantastic the day was. The Old Foss course we played in the afternoon was outstanding - by far and away the best course I've ever played! A great challenge and in A1 condition. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us, especially in the Proshop. Great value for money, would recommend to anyone who wants a good day out.
Thanks Forest Park for a fantastic day! Phil Jones September 14, 2005
