Ripon City Golf Club is a very good place to practice and learn golf in north Yorkshire. I have found the place very relaxing and has a very friendly pro shop staff.
More over you can learn golf with video analysis for as little as £ 25. The pro shop website has more details on http://www.yorkshiregolfequipment.com
I live and work in London so can not access this golf course very often but I will certainly recommend going there.
