"The course is not overlong but has the toughest three opening holes in the country.
The first is a 428 yards uphill with tight out of bounds to the left; the second is a neat par three with what can only be described as an outrageous slope from back to front while the third features a hard to hit, narrow fairway. Not the easiest starts by any means.
The course which sits roughly 500 feet above sea level, features undulating fairways which are often susceptible to high winds, making some holes very difficult.

Course Reviews
I have been a member since March 2001 and this is one of the three top courses in Sheffield. Not over-long, but it has the hardest opening 3 holes in the county. 1st 427 yd uphill with tight oob on left, 2nd par 3 with wicked slope back to front and 3rd a 360 yd x 25yd nightmare! I played today and the fairways are like carpets, greens receptive and rough punitive but fair, with plenty of definition around greens and fairways. Best holes (after 3rd) are on the back 9 - pars at 14 & 15 are like birdies and 17 will set a twitch in the swing of anyone with a decent score, demanding an arrow-straight strike between trees straight out of a Brothers Grimm fairy tale. New holes are under construction on the front 9, in play next year, adding a shot to the par and a further shudder to the Saturday medal card. Come and see for yourself - well worth the £28.
