Good condition throughout the year. Quality greens and a very good score card ruiner in the 13th 460 yard par 4. Shaun Higginbottom October 31, 2004

Excellent shop friendly and helpful staff. Course in poor condition on temps and mats. Talking to members best time to visit is around there invitation day in June two weeks ether side it is the only time its is worth a visit. Genrally lots better value courses in the area and kept better all year round give it a miss food was cold and slightly overpriced.

The clubhouse and changing rooms are very good, however the course is dreadful.
the green conditions were appalling greens were the bumpiest I've ever played on in over ten years playing golf.
I have played lees hall several times over the years and I have normally enjoyed a round here as the condition is usually not bad and greens generally OK.
However, on my first trip back for over a year this week I am sad to report that this course is in the worst condition I have ever played on. It is sad that once good tees and normally great greens have now become little better than a holiday pitch and putt standard. The course is looking uncared for and tatty and I believe it is not worth the £25.00 we payed. I was very dissapointed as this was once a well cared for track.
Shame.

I am a member of Lees Hall golf club and have just read a review on our course by Mr Alan Jones submitted 21/06/11. Whilst accepting that we are
having problems with some greens and work to improve them is being carried out I feel that the other comments are malicious as regards the unkempt state of the course. We recently had a course inspection carried out by Mr Henry Bechelet of the STRI (28/04/11) which in actual describes the fairway as excellent. In the interest of fairness I am quite happy to forward the report or indeed would ask you to contact Mr Bechelet personally at the STRI to obtain an unbiased report on the course... "Greens; 28th April, this visit was carried early on in the year, and although the performance of the greens wasnt bad,a number of issues were plain to see.Our immediate aim was to smooth out the surfaces on the run up to the main playing season. Tees;the tees are quite uneven and will require levelling, the main concern at the time of inspection was the establishment of growth. It was hoped that the recent rainfall would help initiate stronger growth., Fairways;the fairways were in terrific condition at the time of inspection. They were generally fine in nature and offered good, firm lies from which to play. Bunkers;the bunkers were generally edged up on the day of inspection General comments;LEES HALL G.C. is an undulating parkland setting. The course is attractive and challenging and is clearly a terrific venue to enjoy the game of golf. The weather on the run up to this inspection had been extremely testing at times. The winter was hard with extremely low teperatures and extended periods of snow lying on the gound, then followed by a dry spring to hold back the development of strong early growth." Exc. from Mr Bechelet's report (28/04/11)
