Booked a four ball on friday 13 june tee off 10am for sunday 15 june club steward who i booked with met us on the 1st explained there was a comp on but should be o k throughout the first 2 holes other members were constantly interfering with play saying we should not be on the course. After paying £80 for the constant abuse we were subjected to  we called it a day If members want to keep courses private dont take bookings I wont be playing at this course again.

We passed on these comments to Todmorden Golf Club and print their reply below:
"I can only apologise to Mr Nolan and his party for their experience at Todmorden. The Steward accepted the booking in good faith in anticipation of being able to welcome the visitors to what we believe to be a friendly Club offering a high quality, well maintained and well presented challenging course.  It would appear that on the Sunday in question, play on our 9 hole course was particularly slow even though the competitors in the Silver Rabbit qualifying competition - one of our 'board' prizes - were playing in three balls.
The introduction of four visitors caused frustration to the members on the course. I appreciate Mr Nolan's disappointment and annoyance after making prior arrangements. He says he won't visit us again but should he have second thoughts and care to contact me I will personally apologise and offer him and his three friends courtesy of the course.
No visitor should be subject to the experience he went through and I feel certain no Club likes to be thought of as inhospitable.
