2) Committee:
A) Election of Officers -
Yearly at AGM
B) Committee meets on the first Thursday of each month, minutes
recorded and available for inspection
3)
Membership: A)
Minimum age 16 or at the committee's discretion
B) New applicants - Complete
application form, join waiting list, committee approval required
C) A
member resigning forfeits any fees paid to the society 4)
Fees: A)
Yearly fee payable on joining the society and thereafter annually, reviewed at
the Annual General Meeting
B) In the event
of dissolution of the society, the funds, assets and properties of the society
shall be distributed as directed by the committee
5)
Objective: A)
Promote the game of golf through the internet magazine GolfToday and by personal
contact, introduce new members to the game.
6)
Golf Days:
A)
Venue, format etc to be decided at committee meetings and then to be arranged
by the fixture committee
B) It should be noted that society golf is viewed
with mixed emotions at some golf clubs, we aim to ensure that our society will
be welcomed back to any golf club visited
7)
Dress Code:
A)
Golf clubs do not allow jeans, collarless tee shirts, Bermuda shorts etc
B)
For society days - Smart casual on the course, tailored shorts are permitted
C)
Ladies smart casual, gents collar and tie for dinner
8)
Guests:
A)
Guests are welcome but must pay a £5 surcharge as members are subsidised
B)
Guests are allowed to win team and fun prizes but not the individual 1st, 2nd
or 3rd prizes.
C) Any guest who applies to join and is accepted into the
society will have the £5 surcharge refunded when they pay the yearly fee
D) Guests are required to play off their lowest club handicap or if they
do not have a handicap certificate from a national union or an affiliated club
then such handicap as the committee shall determine, If they elect to join the
society, they will receive an EGU Handicap according to the results of their first
three cards.
