May 11, 2010

The inaugural Breakthrough Breast Cancer Annual Charity Golf Day will be held on Friday 16th July 2010, kindly hosted by South Cerney Golf Course, near Cirencester in Gloucestershire.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the UK’s leading charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education. For further information visit www.cotswoldbreakthrough.org.uk

The competition will be an 18 hole Fourball Betterball Stableford and is open to all golfers with a valid CONGU handicap. The maximum handicap allowance will be 24 for Men and 32 for Ladies (those with higher handicaps may play, but will play off 24/32). In addition to the main competition there will be ‘Nearest the Pin’ and ‘Longest Drive’ prizes, plus a raffle and auction.

Commenting on this exciting charity day, new captain of South Cerney Golf Club Jerry Homan-Green said: “I am delighted to be hosting the first Cotswold Breakthrough Charity Golf Day and invite all golfers to join us and raise awareness and vital funds for the pioneering fight against breast cancer.”

South Cerney Golf Course is easily accessible, being just 15 miles from junction 15 of the M4 and 20 miles from junction 11 of the M5.

Entry fee is just £60 per pair of players, to include a buffet meal plus bacon roll and coffee on arrival. Entries can be accepted from pairs of Ladies or Gentlemen (but not mixed pairs). Starting times will be from 9am to 1pm, with the prize giving at an estimated 6pm, after the raffle and auction.
