Geoff Ogilvy signs multi-year deal with FootJoy
January 8, 2010

FootJoy has entered into a multi-year agreement with current world number 14 Geoff Ogilvy, the 2006 US Open Champion and six-time winner on the PGA Tour.

Following a successful 2009, where he won the Mercedes-Benz Championship and claimed the second of his two Match Play Championship titles, Ogilvy is starting the 2010 season wearing FootJoy’s market leading shoes and gloves. A true global player, Ogilvy will once again play a number of events on the European Tour as well as the PGA Tour.

"Like many Tour players, I grew up wearing FootJoy golf shoes and gloves so putting them on again is a bit of a home-coming for me” said Ogilvy. “I’ve been using the new products and they’re fantastic. I'm really excited to start the season in FootJoy product."

Geoff joins the industry leader at a busy time for the brand. The ultra-stable SYNR-G® shoe category continues to be the shoe of choice for many of the game's best players, including Padraig Harrington, Steve Stricker and Zach Johnson. In addition, the new flagship shoe category, FJ ICON has quickly attracted a loyal following from elite players like Ian Poulter, Camilo Villegas, Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood and hundreds more.

As the worldwide leader in golf gloves, Ogilvy will also rely on the FootJoy StaSof® glove (pictured right).

“We are delighted to welcome Geoff to Team FJ. He will no doubt be a great ambassador for FootJoy,” said Richard Fryer, European Marketing Manager - FootJoy. “Geoff is a fantastic addition to our staff as he embodies many of the qualities that define the FootJoy brand. He is a global icon who plays the game with passion, integrity and has a proven record of success.”
