Stuart Appleby's soles remain with Ecco shoes
January 6, 2011
Nine-time PGA Tour winner Stuart Appleby, one of only five men to shoot a 59 on the PGA Tour, will wear the new Ecco Comfort Classic, following an extension of his endorsement agreement with the renowned Danish shoemaker.

In August 2010 , Appleby became only the fifth player in PGA Tour history to shoot a 59 in competition en route to his victory at the Greenbrier Classic. Additional highlights of the 39-year-old’s stellar career include back-to-back-to-back wins at the Mercedes Championships and representing the International Team in five Presidents Cup competitions.
Henceforth, Appleby will compete in the newly-introduced Comfort Classic model, appear at company functions and continue to showcase the brand’s logo on his shirt collar.
“Stuart is a true citizen of the game who is respected worldwide for his positive attitude and proven ability to beat top competition,” says Jesper Thuen, Sponsor and Event Manager, Ecco Golf. “His final-round 59 at the Greenbrier Classic was a truly remarkable feat accomplished in our luxurious World Class GTX shoes. We’re looking forward to him competing, and continuing to win, in the Comfort Classic.”
A traditional shoe with a city touch, the Comfort Classic has a soft feel and superb fit to accommodate a variety of foot types. An array of state of the art features include Hydromax leather uppers for excellent weather resistance, Second Skin Lining to wick moisture and create a rich interior feel, and the Ecco Comfort Fiber System insole to increase air circulation while creating a fresh, cool inner climate.
