Simpson takes Deutsche Bank in playoff with FootJoy
September 6, 2011

FootJoyFootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, congratulates brand ambassador Webb Simpson, as the 26-year-old once again signaled his growing status in the game with three birdies in a row, the final one on the second extra playoff hole, to win the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday and his second PGA Tour title in the space of three weeks.

The victory vaults the stylish North Carolina native to the top of the The FedEx Cup standings and, with just two events remaining assures him of being among the top five when the Playoffs conclude at THE TOUR Championship at the end of the month. Simpson also moves up to 14th position in the Official World Golf Rankings and the win guarantees him a place on the 2012 United States Presidents Cup team.

One of a new breed of golfing superstars, Simpson strode to victory on Monday afternoon relying on the unrivalled performance and comfort of the FJ ICON™ golf shoes as he carded a scintillating 6-under par, 65.

Whether it is the all-round excellence of the FJ ICON™, the reliability and consistent performance of the new DryJoys Tour™, or the comfort of the FJ Sport, FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
