Simpson strides to maiden victory in FootJoy
August 22, 2011

FootJoyFootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, congratulates ambassador Webb Simpson, as the 26-year-old produced a flawless final-round 67 in-front of his home fans at The Wyndham Championship, to claim his maiden PGA Tour title. The 26-year-old Raleigh, North Carolina native finished at 18-under par, 262 and collected a cheque for $936,000 in the tournament about a 30-mile drive from the Wake Forest campus where he was a college star.

The victory vaulted him from 12th to third in The FedEx Cup, guaranteeing him a place in The TOUR Championship and putting him in with a great chance of claiming the coveted $10 million bonus. The victory also moves Simpson up to 33rd position in the Official World Golf Rankings.

One of the most stylish players on the PGA Tour, Simpson relied on the all-round performance of FJ ICON golf shoes as he carded a bogey-free final round on Sunday.

Whether it is the all-round excellence of the FJ ICON™, the reliability and consistent performance of the new DryJoys Tour™, or the comfort of the FJ Sport, FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
