Watney walks away with first WGC win in FootJoy
March 15, 2011

FootJoyFootJoy, the #1 Shoe and Glove in Golf, continues to set the standard in 2011 with yet another of its ambassadors claiming a prestigious title. American Nick Watney birdied the daunting 18th hole at Doral to finish off an impressive final round 67, five under par to claim his first WGC title by two strokes. The FJ ambassador remained focussed and determined in pursuit of his maiden WGC title, seeing off challenges from a world class field.

Watney, who this week solidified his position as one of the finest new talents in the game, opted for the performance and style of the FJ Sport. The youthful look and feel of the latest style from FJ has struck a chord with the recent breed of new young talent on tours around the world. The stability of the FJ Sport, which offers new levels of sport performance due to its forefoot FlexZone and substantial in-shoe cushioning that provides outstanding levels of comfort. The unashamedly youthful FJ Sport was Watney’s shoe of choice on route to a historic victory. Watney also chose the unrivalled grip and performance of the Pure Touch™ glove in taking charge of the Blue Monster at Doral. The win takes Watney to 15th in the world golf rankings and 2nd in the FED EX Cup standings.

Whether it is the all round excellence of the all new FJ ICON™, the reliability and consistent performance of DryJoys Tour™, or the comfort of the FJ Sport, FootJoy remains the overwhelming favourite for golfers of all abilities around the world.
